About
About Adasu Koçkaya
Turkish folk singer based in London, with more than twenty years on stage, from Istanbul and Ankara to Cologne, Switzerland and London.
I began my music career in 1998–99 with my first album, “Adasu Koçkaya Engin Müzik”. After its release I studied for a long time with the master vocal coach Kerem Özdemir to refine my voice and technique.
I perform songs in Turkish, Kurdish and Zazaki. To introduce my name to a wider audience I appeared on programmes on ATV, TGRT and many other television channels.
Over the years I have sung on prestigious stages in Turkey and abroad, joined public concerts and Alevi Federation association events, and in 2002–2003 hosted evening programmes at Köşem Restaurant in London for extended periods. During the same time I sang as a soloist and in a vocal duet on my brother Taylan Koçkaya’s album.
To share twenty years of experience I taught vocal lessons to many talented children. Today I continue with the same passion: weddings in London, restaurant evenings and DJ performances, and I have been a live guest on Dost FM London.
If you are planning a wedding, an engagement or a celebration, I would love to be part of it.
